The Cape Town Sevens returns once more in December, and the 2019 edition is set to be one with a bit of a twist.
The Mother City has hosted the South African leg of the World Rugby Seven Series for the past four years, bringing in two days of a festive atmosphere in and around the Cape Town Stadium.
This time around, the tournament has been extended to three days, with the inclusion of the women’s game to the schedule.
This will see the Springboks Women’s Sevens team make their home debut on what will be a long weekend of action.
Cape Town Sevens 2019 start times and dates
The action kicks off on Friday, 13 December at 14:00 (SAST), with gates opening an hour earlier.
All the men’s and women’s teams will be on show on the opening day, and tickets costs R150 per person.
There’s an early start on Saturday, with the first match taking place at 9:00, and an hour later on the following day.
The World Rugby Sevens Series begins in Dubai on 5 December 2019, before heading on to the Mother City.
